How Employer Sponsorship Works

1

Initial Consultation

We review the foreign worker(s) you want to sponsor, the position requirements, and whether EB-3 is the right legal pathway.

2

Prevailing Wage & Job Requirements

We determine the prevailing wage and define the minimum job qualifications for the position.

3

Recruitment & PERM Filing

We handle the required recruitment campaign and file the PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor.

4

I-140 Petition & Green Card

Upon PERM approval, we file the immigrant petition. Your worker receives permanent work authorization.

What Does Sponsorship Cost?

PERM Labor Certification

No government filing fee, but recruitment costs (job ads) average $1,000–$3,000.

I-140 Immigrant Petition

$715 government filing fee per worker. Premium processing available for an additional fee.

What Employers Need to Know

Do I need to prove I can't find U.S. workers?+
Yes — the PERM process requires a good-faith recruitment effort. BBA Immigration manages this process, including job postings, advertising, and documentation of results.
What if the worker is already in the U.S. on another visa?+
Many workers start on H-1B, L-1, or other visas before transitioning to green card sponsorship. We can evaluate the best timing and strategy for your specific situation.
Can I sponsor multiple workers at once?+
Absolutely. Many of our employer clients sponsor multiple workers simultaneously. We manage each case individually while coordinating the overall strategy.
How long will my employee be tied to my company?+
During the PERM and I-140 process, the worker must intend to work for your company. After I-140 approval and 180 days with a pending adjustment of status, they gain portability rights.
