A physician can obtain an EB-2 visa, with an NIW, if they satisfy the requirements of this visa. And, with that in mind, these requirements are as follows:

• You must work full-time, in a clinical practice, and have done so for at least five years..
• You must work in primary care – if you are a general practitioner, for example, then this counts – or be a specialty physician.
• You must serve in a Health Professional Shortage Area, Mental Health Professional Area, a Medically Underserved Area, Veterans Affairs facility or, if you’re a specialist, or in Physician Scarcity Area.
• You must obtain a statement from either a federal agency, or a state health department, that is familiar with your qualifications and states that your work is in the public interest.
